In alignment with European standards, Greece actively participates in the ongoing effort to monitor graduates of higher education. The goal is to improve the integration of graduates into the labour market and enhance overall employment and productivity in the country. The primary organization responsible for tracking higher education graduates in Greece is Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE), while relevant research is concurrently conducted by the higher education institutions themselves.
HAHE with the aim of ensuring high-quality higher education, manages the graduate tracking project for Greece in accordance with its mission (n. 4653/2020). This is achieved through collaboration with Greek universities. The mission of HAHE is to contribute to the formulation and implementation of the national strategy for higher education and the allocation of grants to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Evaluates and certifies the quality of the operation of universities, maintaining an integrated information system. This information system is interconnected with the respective HEIs and the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs to collect and manage higher education data needed to achieve its objectives, all in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, OJ L 119) and Law n. 4624/2019 (A 137). As part of its mission, one of ΗΑΗΕ's actions involves the systematic monitoring of the progress of graduates from HEIs in the labour market.
