The European pilot survey, Eurograduate, was launched with the aim of establishing a data collection system for higher education graduates in the European Economic Area. This system allows for the systematic monitoring of their progress and is part of the European Graduate Tracking Initiative by the European Commission.

Monitoring the progress of higher education graduates is to better assess their academic and professional development within the European area. To achieve this goal, tools and methods have been developed to collect comparable data across participating countries. There is also unified support, guidance, and coordination throughout all stages of the research.

The first pilot phase of the Eurograduate survey, EUROGRADUATE 2018, was conducted between October 2018 and February 2019. It focused on the academic years 2012-2013 and 2016-2017. Eight European countries, including Greece, participated in this phase.

The second phase of this pilot survey, EUROGRADUATE 2022, commenced in 2022, with results expected to be presented by mid-2024. In this second phase, the number of participating countries increased from eight to seventeen.
