The 1st pilot phase of Eurograduate survey was launched in 2018 with the aim of tracking the progress of graduates of the academic years 2012-13 and 2016-17. The survey, conducted in Autumn/Winter 2018, involved eight European countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Malta and Norway).

The research was coordinated by an international consortium of 12 organizations, but six of them had the leading role:

    • University of Maastricht Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA)
    • German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW)
    • Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS)
    • DESAN Research Solutions
    • cApStAn linguistic quality control

In the survey conducted online using a questionnaire, approximately 5000 graduates were invited to participate. The topics examined were related to the demographic profile of the graduates, their education history, the transition to the labour market and the relevance of the studies to market needs, skills, mobility, possible further studies and the social impact of their employment.
